The activities of the Julio Otoni Center go beyond the , Programa de Complementacao de Saberes: The Atelie Mulheres de Santa offer arts and crafts classes, So Capoeira teaches capoeira, Filhas de Santa work with other groups of adolescents.  The computer center  is open to the whole community.

Two local women, Eliana Nascimento and Carina Silva, run the center.
